Fukuoka prefecture’s Dazaifu was the gateway to mainland Asian culture and has many historical and cultural heritage sites from the Nara and Heian era. Among them, Dazaifu Tenmangu serves as the center of the town. Hotel Cultia Dazaifu, with the concept “the town as a hotel”, renovated traditional residences scattered across the town into hotels. One of the venues, Kokari An, is about 100 years old and is now a renovated hotel with Japanese cypress wood bathtubs prepared in all the guest rooms.
